  • Vintage: 1960 – 1976
  • Details:  An exquisite set of three vintage water goblets from Tiffin's "Lyndley" cut glass pattern, (aka Lindley or Lynley).  Crafted from delicate blown glass, each piece features a luxurious platinum rim and gorgeous faceted stem,#17646) embodying sophistication and timeless elegance.  The cut pattern forms swirled leaves dancing across the bowl.  Please pay attention to the pattern, as this one is typically confused with "Carillon" and "Sonata", also from Tiffin.  On this one, "Lindley", the leaves are separate, as if blowing in the wind, we've photographed the pattern in several different light settings and positions for your review.  This drinkware set transforms ordinary moments into extraordinary evenings, inviting an air of refined celebration to your table.

Tiffin started as division of the U.S. Glass Co. in the late 1800's.  US Glass built two new factories, one was located in Tiffin, Ohio, and made blown glassware, stemware, and some dinnerware.  For various reasons, including the depression, fires, etc., all the factories closed except the one in Tiffin, Ohio and by 1950, all pieces were marked (using paper labels) with the Tiffin name, however, the company retained the name "United States Glass Co".  The Tiffin name was so popular that in 1963, the company reorganized as "Tiffin Art Glass Company".  Three years later, in 1966, Continental Can Company purchased Tiffin for a brief period, only to be sold again, this time to Interpace Corporation in January 1969.  Since Interpace owned Franciscan brand, this is the period where we find the "Tiffin-Franciscan" name for pieces made by Tiffin for Franciscan.  In 1979, Tiffin Glass was sold to Towle Silversmiths and renamed Tiffin Crystal. Tiffin Crystal shut down on May 1, 1980.
